There Was Frustration In WWE Over The Heavy Censorship And Editing During SmackDown

WWE presented a newsworthy episode of SmackDown on Friday night from New York, NY, at Madison Square Garden.

Jade Cargill vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Candice LeRae and Naomi vs. Blair Davenport vs. Indi Hartwell in Women’s Money in the Bank qualifying matches were booked, with Stratton and Naomo advancing. Logan Paul vs. LA Knight vs. Santos Escobar in a Men’s Money in the Bank qualifying match took place, with Knight going over.

The company also built further for Money in the Bank PLE. The night was capped off by a Bloodline acknowledgment ceremony that resulted in the group taking out Paul Heyman after Heyman refused to acknowledge Solo Sikoa as his Tribal Chief.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported there was frustration from several WWE sources they heard from over the heavy censorship and editing during the broadcast. A longtime WWE star who wasn’t on the show noticed Fightful’s tweet about being excited for SmackDown to move back to USA Network later this year.

The talent said, “It’s a chore to watch sometimes. I understand censoring ‘fuck the Pacers,’ but it feels like every segment is edited, and it makes us look like it’s our production.”
