WWE’s Plans For TNA’s Joe Hendry In NXT

Joe Hendry is slated to return to WWE NXT after strong fan support following his initial appearance.

The crossover between WWE and TNA hasn’t slowed down after it started last month, as there have been TNA stars appearing on NXT television and vice versa. Hendry, alongside Frankie Kazarian, was among the names in the battle royal. It was won by Je’Von Evans, who earned the right to challenge Trick Williams for the NXT Title at Heatwave. Hendry got a strong reaction before he was the first to be eliminated. Coming out of the show, Hendry had a backstage segment with Shawn Michaels and warned he could appear on any brand. Hendry drew big social media numbers for the company.

At the end of Heatwave, a photo of Hendry was shown before the show went off the air. Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan reports that there are plans to use Hendry ‘heavily’ in the coming weeks and months.WWE sources said they were looking to focus on Hendry’s ability to go viral following his first appearance, with small teases for him.

Fans should also expect more blink-and-you-miss-it teases leading up to his next NXT appearance. The report noted that when asked by those in the company if they should have any interest in him when his deal with TNA expires, they were asked, “Who wouldn’t?”
