AJ Styles And IYO SKY Victorious In Japan Return Matches

AJ Styles and IYO SKY worked separate matches in Japan on Saturday morning.

First up was AJ, who squared off with one of Pro Wrestling NOAH’s all-time greats, Naomichi Marufuji, during the co-main event at Budokan Hall. It ended when Styles hit a Styles Clash for the win after Marufuji escaped from the Styles Clash right before.

It was set up last month when Styles appeared in a video during a NOAH event in Yokohama to announce his appearance for the show. Before joining WWE in 2016, Styles had worked as a regular in Japan for New Japan Pro Wrestling, winning the IWGP Heavyweight title on two occasions.

With SKY, she also worked the co-main event, this time at the Marigold Summer Destiny event at Sumo Hall, where she beat Utami Hayashishita following a tombstone piledriver and a moonsault. Following the bout, SKY thanked Hayashishita, WWE, and Marigold.

SKY came out with her WWE music and wore a mask similar to that she had while working at STARDOM before working for WWE.
