WWE presents the SummerSlam Premium Live Event on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, OH, with several matches already confirmed for it. WWE is said to be planning an element to one of its top matches.
The current five-bout card includes Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest vs. GUNTHER, and WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley.
Also on tap are WWE Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Nia Jax and WWE United States Champion Logan Paul vs. LA Knight. More matches will be confirmed for it in the coming weeks.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that “there is a guest referee spot scheduled for one of the top bouts.” It’s unclear which bout it will be for, but was told it’s not Ripley vs. Morgan.
From pure speculation, it’s possible Seth Rollins could be the special guest ref for the expected CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre match since they’ve included him in the program coming out of Money in the Bank. Because Punk cost McIntyre the World Title at the event, the original bout against World Champion Damian Priest noted if Rollins didn’t win, then he could challenge for the title as long as Priest is champion.
