WWE Star Recently Won First Singles TV Match In Several Years

Not everyone can be a top star for WWE or have a constant push that sees them winning matches on television and advancing to storylines with top-tier talent.

Cedric Alexander has had ups and downs in the company over the span of his career. Alexander didn’t have a run in NXT but rather worked the Cruiserweight Classic, then moved to the 205 Live brand. He was later moved to Raw. In late 2019, it was reported that Paul Heyman was high on Alexander, and he received a brief push. The highlight of that push was the Alexander feud with AJ Styles over the United States Title.

The company didn’t do much with him until he was put with Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin in 2020 as part of The Hurt Business, a beloved fan-favorite faction that was broken up sooner than the wrestlers and fans wanted. Alexander became a Tag Team Champion during that run. Since then, WWE hasn’t done much with Alexander besides working on house shows and Main Event matches. He was recently sent to NXT.

On this week’s NXT, Alexander went over Brooks Jensen, snapping a long streak that dates back years. According to CageMatch.net, this marked his first TV win since February 2023, when he teamed with Shelton Benjamin to defeat Alpha Academy (Chad Gable & Otis), while it was his first TV singles win since May 2021, when he beat Benjamin in 28 seconds.

This doesn’t include Main Event or house shows. He holds a 7-10 record thus far in 2024.
