Britt Baker Was Recently Suspended By AEW After Incident With MJF And Alicia Atout

Britt Baker and MJF are two of AEW’s biggest homegrown stars. However, the two wrestlers were involved in a backstage situation that resulted in the company having to discipline Baker for her alleged actions.

Since returning at Double or Nothing, MJF has been a main focus on AEW storylines, where he turned heel by laying out Daniel Garcia and winning the International Title from Will Ospreay. For Baker, she returned at the Forbidden Door, where she confronted Mercedes Mone.

The two have been feuding as of late and are slated to meet at All In later this month, where Mone will put the TBS Title on the line. MJF’s girlfriend recently joined the promotion as an on-air talent.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Baker was suspended for either one or two weeks and fined by the company’s disciplinary committee.

Meltzer wrote, “Details have been kept pretty quiet. It came from something backstage at the 7/17 Dynamite where Baker allegedly said something about MJF, and Alicia Atout, MJF’s girlfriend, heard it and told him, and he confronted Baker. This led to an investigation with HR talking to people on 7/24 and I believe the disciplinary committee that did the investigation recommended that.”

It’s unclear whether AEW President Tony Khan was involved in the investigation, but everyone attempted to keep this under wraps. Meltzer added, “Most of those we heard from were sympathetic to her in this situation.”

It was said that the way AEW handled this stemmed from past problems that weren’t addressed, and AEW put together a committee to settle these situations quickly.
