There has been a lot of talk among fans and those in the industry about the meeting with Shane McMahon and AEW President Tony Khan at a private Arlington airport last week with the possibility of him going to the promotion.
People in WWE soured on McMahon after the 2022 Royal Rumble debacle, where he reportedly tried to make the match about himself and had heat with wrestlers in the match for his conduct in gorilla, causing him to no longer be used and plans for him to be dropped.
McMahon has tried to return to the company, but those in the promotion have no interest in him returning. If he were to go to AEW, he could be used as an on-air talent or behind the scenes.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported some discussion among talent about the meeting. Most of the talent that they spoke to believe Shane will at least make an appearance there. You can read McMahon’s statement about the meeting here.
