WWE signs a lot of talent to developmental deals. Some are experienced wrestlers who have worked on the independent wrestling scene for years, while others were recruited in college and have never stepped foot inside a wrestling ring before getting to the Performance Center.
Damon Kemp, real name Bobby Steveson and the brother of Gable Steveson, signed with WWE in August 2021. His brother Gable was let go earlier this year, as it was reported that he “wasn’t cutting it” as a pro wrestler.
Fightful had reported Kemp’s departure was not part of a round of WWE cuts, but rather his deal wasn’t renewed. This was after he was initially a part of Diamond Mine, only to later turn his back on the group and be paired with the No Quarter Catch Crew. Kemp was considered to be good in the ring for his level of experience, and nobody had anything negative to say.
As seen below, Kemp noted this morning that his non-compete clause has expired, and he is officially a free agent.
