Jeff Jarrett Explains How He Got Busted Open During His Match With Bryan Danielson On AEW Dynamite

Last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was capped off by a fantastic main event between Jeff Jarrett and Bryan Danielson. Jarrett was bloodied during the match. On the latest “My World” podcast, Jarrett gave an update on how he’s feeling.

“Today I’m much better,” Jarrett said. “The match was on Wednesday. Just not being in that regular cadence of working twice a week or whatever it may be, I’m not going to say my biological age has anything to do with it. I’m not going to speak that into existence, maybe it does. Anyhow, Thursday I was fine. Friday morning when I woke up, I went, okay, here’s the soreness and I gotta work through that. Saturday, I was still sore.”

Jarrett talked about how he was busted open during the match. Jarrett said that it happened during a spot with the steel chair.

“That was quite the physical confrontation,” Jarrett said. “If you saw that finish when the American Dragon did his high knee with a steel folded metal chair, I took one on the chin. As he hit me, it wasn’t the initial impact, but as the chair fell to the floor, my chin caught it on the mat, but all good. Five stitches. It comes with the territory. It is what it is. Steamboat raising both of our hands is a very, very cool moment for this ole kid from Nashville, TN. It was a special evening in so many ways. It was definitely a special night.”
