Injured AEW Star Is Getting Closer To Making A Return

AEW is expected to get a star back from an injury after being sidelined, and it could be sooner than fans think.

“Switchblade” Jay White has been out of action for over a month. It had suffered a foot injury that resulted in AEW’s plans being changed. The injury to the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion also meant the Bang Bang Gang was forced to vacate the trio’s Championships.

White was last seen working a match when he put over Hangman Page in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament on the July 6th episode of Collision. As for the Bang Bang Gang, they last defended their unified Trios Titles at AEW Double or Nothing.

Fightful Select reported today that White was getting checked on at last week’s TV event for a potential return to the ring. The original hope among those backstage was his return was imminent.

At one point, AEW considered him for the All-In event, but it’s unclear whether he traveled to London. The idea was for him to be in the Casino Gauntlet match. Although he was improving, he’s yet to be cleared as of last week.
