Joe Tessitore will make his WWE Raw debut as the lead announcer on this week’s episode, with most fans praising him for his work.
Tessitore worked alongside color commentator Wade Barrett. It’s believed that he will move to SmackDown with Michael Cole and Pat McAfee resuming Raw duties when the show moves to Netflix in January.
Tessitore has previously called the NFL’s Monday Night Football and College Football Playoff games. He is a Nick Khan hire, as the WWE President is high on the announcer.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that there was a lot of excitement around Tessitore’s debut and those they spoke to admitted there would be growing pains and hiccups with the transition.
It was added that “Word we got after the show was that WWE were satisfied with how things went, and though Tessitore sounded great on the air.”
