Konnan On Alberto Del Rio And Marty Scurll: ‘Bro, They Want You To Cancel These People Out For Life. You’re Supposed To Never Ever Work Again’

As noted earlier, Conrad Thompson stated on Konnan’s “Keepin’ It 100” podcast that the “Mr. McMahon” Netflix documentary is an “absolute double shovel burial” of Vince McMahon and he’s heard that there are people in WWE who aren’t happy about it. Dave Meltzer reported that there are people in the company who are “repulsed” by the allegations.

During the “Keepin’ It 100” podcast, Disco Inferno gave his take: “The issue I have with the people that are keeping the morality scorecard of people. I would say well start with the person in the mirror if that’s what you wanna do. That’s the way I look at it.”

Thompson said, “It’s one of those deals where online everybody puts their best foot forward. Nobody leads with the shameful dirty little secrets. Almost any of us, if I went through any of your phones, there’s something in there you don’t want me to see.”

Konnan added, “It’s not any of us. It’s all of us. I’ll give you an example. I got a lot of heat for using Alberto Del Rio, right? And for using Marty Scurll. My whole thing is if I were to ask your friends and if I were to go through your family members and ask you something, there’s something you’re embarrassed that you did that you don’t want nobody to find out about. So don’t be judging anybody else. Number 2, bro they want you to like cancel these people out for life. You’re supposed to never ever work again. At least when you go to jail you have a jail sentence. Twitter jail is forever. I have a problem with that. I was disappointed that Hogan used [inaudible]. Obviously, I’m a minority and I’m not cool with that. I was disappointed but bro, he’s from Tampa. What do you expect? That’s what they talked like back then in the 70’s.”

Thompson said, “I’m with you in terms of everybody’s got something they don’t want people to know. Everybody’s got something that they’re ashamed of. I also agree that none of this should be a lifetime ban. Take a look at Michael Vick. Is there a better redemption story in real sports? He paid the ultimate price and then came back and played again and we got over it. I’m not saying that in an ugly way about any of the accused. I’m just saying we have to give people an opportunity to be better. That’s what I think America is all about is how can we be better? Otherwise, are we just sentencing them to death because they made a mistake?”

Alberto Del Rio was arrested on 5/9/20 for allegedly battering and sexually assaulting his then-girlfriend. On 10/9/20, Del Rio was indicted by a grand jury and formally charged with aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault, two felonies. After several trial delays, the charges were dropped because there was a “missing witness.”

In June 2020, Scurll was accused of taking advantage of an inebriated 16-year-old girl in 2015. Scurll later issued a statement and claimed that the encounter was consensual.

McMahon was accused by former WWE employee Janel Grant of coercing her into a sexual relationship. Grant says she was repeatedly sexually assaulted during 2020-2021 and that she was subjected to “extreme cruelty and degradation” by McMahon.

Other allegations made about McMahon include former WWE referee Rita Chatterton in 1992 accusing McMahon of rape in 1986. In 2006, McMahon was accused of showing nude photos of himself as well as groping and attempting to kiss a tanning salon worker in Boca Raton, Florida.

McMahon was accused of sexually assaulting a spa worker in 2011. That incident allegedly occurred in California and a lawsuit was filed against McMahon in 2022. McMahon has denied the allegations made about him.
