Another sign has backed up speculation that AEW will have a show on FS1.
As previously reported, a new television deal between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery is close to being or is already done. AEW has been rumored to be in talks with FOX for a deal that would see a one-hour show named Shockwave.
AEW filed a trademark for this, with the rumor being that it would air on FS1. A source indicated to Dave Meltzer that Rampage would not be continued as part of the new WBD deal.
According to Puck, the AEW-WBD deal is four years with a three-year guarantee, including an option year to see AEW air programming twice weekly across TBS, TNT, and TruTV. The deal is said to be in a ‘ballpark figure’ around $170 million per year.
AEW President Tony Khan will be featured on NFL Films Presents: The Beauty of Football tonight on FS1. The show was filmed in April during the NFL Draft and featured him working the AEW Collision and Rampage events on the same night as the Draft’s third day.
This could be the first step in the working relationship between AEW and FOX.
