Big E Says He Is Getting Updated Neck Scans In A Few Months To See If He’s Healthy Enough To Return

Big E is enjoying life outside of the ring after suffering a major neck injury. It was such a serious injury that could’ve paralyzed him and has put his in-ring career in doubt.

Big E suffered the neck injury on the March 11, 2022, episode of WWE SmackDown when taking an overhead belly-to-belly suplex at ringside from Ridge Holland. The former WWE Champion landed on his neck and fractured his C1 vertebra and C6 vertebra.

He’s still not medically cleared. Since then, Big E has worked in various roles for WWE, including as a talent scout, recruiter, media appearances, etc.

Big E shared a health update while speaking to Kyle Odegard of Sports Talk Philly.

He said, “More than anything, I’m just taking every day as it comes. I know that sounds like a cliche. But I get scans again in another three-to-six months, and if they look great and the doctors say it’s healthy for me to go back, then that’s something where we’ll sit down and talk about it. But I try not to spend too much time worrying about things I can’t control. It’s nice to know that if I get the opportunity to get back in the ring, and I can do it healthily, then let’s do that. Let’s attack it fully. But if not, I know exactly what I want to do, and I’m excited about that path, too.”

To help with recovery, Big E has been using stem cell treatment. We hope to see Big E back in the ring one day.
