Despite Planned Time Off, Top AEW Has Always Been Planned For WrestleDream

AEW won’t be without one of its top stars for long as they get closer to the WrestleDream pay-per-view event.

That star is Swerve Strickland, who put over Hangman Page in their Unsanctioned Steel Cage Match at the AEW All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago, IL. The controversial match had several extreme moments, including bumps on a cinderblock, Page stabbing Strickland in the mouth with a needle, and hitting him with a chair shot to the head that knocked out Swerve.

Coming out of the show, it was reported Strickland was taking time off from AEW. However, Strickland will be back sooner than originally expected. In this week’s episode of Dynamite, MVP debuted by interrupting Prince Nana while Nana gave an update on Swerve.

MVP took aim at Strickland for taking time off. Fightful Select reports they were told Swerve was always planned to at least make an appearance at the WrestleDream pay-per-view event on October 12th. The event takes place in Swerve’s home state of Washington, and it would make sense for him to be on the show.
