Jey Uso Set A New WWE Record With Intercontinental Title Win

A week ago in the main event of WWE Raw, Jey Uso beat Bron Breakker to win the Intercontinental Title.

This marked Uso’s first singles title win in WWE. As previously noted, Uso made history as a result, as Uso and Rikishi became the only second father-son duo in company history to both hold the Intercontinental Championship.

They join “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig & his son, Curtis Axel, in that accomplishment. Now, Uso has set a record.

WWE Stats & Info noted that Uso set a new record for having the most tag team title reigns before winning a singles title. Bubba Ray Dudley previously held the record of seven tag reigns when he won the Hardcore Title in 2002.

Uso now holds the record at 10, although two reigns were combo reigns with both Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Titles. Uso will speak on tonight’s WWE Raw.

As of this writing, he doesn’t have a match lined up for Bad Blood.
