Many former WWE stars have recently announced that they’ve signed Legend deals with the company.
DDP confirmed over the weekend that he joined Jacqueline, Jesse Ventura, The Headbangers, Mick Foley, Victoria, The Godfather, and The Dudley Boyz in doing so after attending Bad Blood this past Saturday night.
Rob Van Dam is another talent under a Legends deal, something he revealed while doing an interview with the Cheap Heat Productions Podcast. This is despite making multiple appearances for AEW dating back to August 2023. He said that’s why he is limited in AEW in terms of not being featured in video games or having action figures and merchandise.
RVD’s latest match in AEW was on the April 20th episode of Rampage, where he won a four-way elimination match. He made a cameo on the USA Network debut episode of SmackDown.
The WWE Legends deal allows WWE to use stars’ likenesses for various purposes, including video games and merchandise. However, such a deal does not prevent the talent from working elsewhere.
