GUNTHER vs. Goldberg Is Not Currently Planned For WWE WrestleMania 41

At WWE Bad Blood in Atlanta, it appeared that the angle between Goldberg and Gunther was to set up a match between them at a future Premium Live Event.

Goldberg’s return to the WWE family is somewhat surprising because he’s been vocal about the company not following through on what he says were promises made to give him one last match. Goldberg had one last match left on his last WWE contract but he wasn’t used.

It appears that Goldberg will get his wish but as of now, it’s unclear when the match with Gunther will happen. Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia would have made sense because Goldberg was getting $2 million per match to wrestle there but Gunther is already slated to face Cody Rhodes for the Crown Jewel Title (trophy) on that show.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Goldberg vs. Gunther is not scheduled for Survivor Series or WrestleMania. October is usually around the time when the company begins to work on the Mania card.

Again, things can always change but Mania doesn’t seem to be when we’ll see Gunther vs. Goldberg. Another possibly could be the Royal Rumble or when they return to Saudi Arabia in 2025. If Goldberg wrestles next year, he will be 58 years old.
