2024 has been a breakout year for Joe Hendry after getting over in TNA Wrestling and having multiple appearances in WWE NXT.
His popularity skyrocketed after appearing in a battle royal on NXT TV as the crossover between the two promotions continues. Despite getting the biggest pop during his entrance out of the rest of the competitors, he was the first to be eliminated from the battle royal.
Since then, he has been used in various roles for NXT, including on commentary, working matches, a live concert, and a backstage segment. Hendry most notably lost to Ethan Page for the NXT Title in the main event of NXT No Mercy.
Hendry responded to a fan who said that he simply fell off the radar by noting the tweet would age badly in four months, which would set the timeframe for the WWE Royal Rumble in the first portion of the new year. His TNA contract is believed to be next year.
Hendry will challenge Nic Nemeth for the TNA World Heavyweight Title on October 26, 2024, at Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit, Michigan.
