WWE Is Planning To Hold A Show At ECW’s Old Home Arena

At a time when WWE is booking more international locations for its premium live events, they’re also taking NXT out on the road.

That trend started this month with the first two episodes on the CW Network taking place in Chicago and St. Louis. This week, they returned to the Performance Center.

NXT and AEW went head-to-head on October 8th when AEW aired Title Tuesday. They’re expected to face each other on November 6th, as WWE will move NXT off its normal Tuesday timeslot and air it on Wednesday to avoid the US presidential election.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE has a date booked for the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia with the belief that it will be on November 6th for NXT.

Meltzer wrote, “The fact there will be a show has been confirmed by many, just not the date. NXT will be on the unfamiliar night, and I presume they’ll loaded up going head-to-head with AEW.

This is the first time WWE will run the venue that was ECW’s old home before the promotion closed its doors in 2001. No other details were given.
