AEW & NJPW May Introduce WWE Clause For Talent Working Forbidden Door

Stephanie Vaquer, real name Ana Stephanie Vaquer González, caught WWE’s attention after she dropped the NJPW Strong Women’s Title to Mercedes Mone at Forbidden Door in June. This led to her signing with WWE.

She later participated in a WWE house show loop in Mexico in July before making her WWE NXT debut a few weeks ago. Last week, she made her TV in-ring debut over Wren Sinclair.

Fightful Select reports that those in AEW and NJPW think “that it’s likely that talent that work Forbidden Door or co-promoted AEW shows in the future would have to make an agreement to not immediately go to WWE.” Although not confirmed, it’s likely under when they’re still signed with the promotion instead of a separate agreement.

Now, she will team with Giulia to take on NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade at Halloween Havoc in a tag team match this Sunday. On this week’s NXT, Vaquer and Giulia team together against two members of Fatal Influence.
