Jon Moxley On State Of AEW: It’s Wide Open To Mold It Into Whatever We Want

Jon Moxley has been a top star for AEW since joining the promotion in 2019 before it had a television deal in place.

Since then, he has been in big spots with big-name opponents and has held a few World Heavyweight Title reigns. Moxley has been someone AEW CEO Tony Khan has relayed on when needed in key spots.

While appearing on Youngstown Studio, Moxley spoke about the state of AEW. The top star stated that AEW has a whole person to grow into.

“It’s still a super young company. In wrestling, five years can seem like a really, really long time, but as far as an organization or a successful company or any type of organization, it’s extremely young. It’s still a baby. My daughter’s three years old. Three years can seem like a long time if you look at it through one lens, but if you look at it through a different lens, it’s like she’s a three-year-old. She’s barely existed yet. AEW is still basically a toddler. It’s wide open to mold it into whatever we want. There are no rules. Much like my three-year-old daughter, it’s got a whole person to grow into. AEW is wide open. It’s still a piece of clay. There’s been a couple of dents in it. There’s a couple of fingerprints in it. You know, it’s taken on a certain shape, but it’s still just a lump of clay, which is a very exciting thing because we can turn it into whatever we want, anything we could imagine…I’m not really concerned about what (AEW) is right now. I’m concerned about what it could be five years from now or 10 years from now, or 20 years from now. That is the exciting thing to me. But the journey of a thousand miles, a million miles, begins with a single step and steps like Wednesday night.”
