WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi commented on some of the big wrestling news of the week on his latest “Off The Top” podcast.
Rikishi on The Motor City Machine Guns defeating Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa to win the WWE Tag Team Championship on SmackDown:
“They’re great workers and from my understanding, they’re even better people. I thought that giving them a fast opportunity to be able to go up against the titles, and to be able to be rewarded the titles, that’s a huge thing for those two boys.”
On his wrestling school, KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy now being affiliated with WWE ID:
“I’d like to congratulate all the schools announced that are with WWE ID. I’ve always said this. If I can bring all the kids on the independent circuit to KnokX Pro, I would. There’s so much talent that’s out there, unseen talent. All these kids need is just access, opportunity and exposure. To be able to have WWE reach out and have KnokX Pro, and all these other prestigious schools around the country that was just announced, it’s a beautiful thing for independent wrestling, you know, students that are independent of the game that are wanting to get seen. A lot of these schools here that were just announced, these schools are trained by pros, those that know, been there, done that. For us here at KnokX pro, you’re probably going to get the similar training that you would get at Booker T’s and Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins and so forth because we all understand what it is.”
