Following an injury angle on WWE NXT, WWE announced that Rhea Ripley had suffered a fractured right orbital socket.
Fans saw Women’s World Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez backstage with baseball bats, implying they attacked the top WWE star. Ripley was lying next to her car and had a cut on her head with fake blood pouring out.
The injury is believed to have happened in a headbutt spot on the October 21st episode. She has been pulled from Sunday’s Raw TV tapings.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE’s Crown Jewel plans had to change as Ripley was slated to work a singles match with Raquel Rodriguez. Although not confirmed, it appears the fatal 4-way Women’s Tag Team Title bout replaced the planned singles match.
As Meltzer stated, it is the only match on the show that wasn’t scheduled before the Ripley injury. We wish Ripley a speedy recovery.
