Becky Lynch wrapped up her WWE commitments before her contract with the company expired on June 1st as she dropped the Women’s World Title to Liv Morgan at the King and Queen of the Ring PLE. She wrestled her last match against Morgan two nights later on Raw in a steel cage.
Lynch is expected to return at some point, although she’s not likely to be back anytime soon as the leave is believed to be extended. As previously reported by WrestleVotes, Lynch’s name is still listed on the weekly talent roster.
On the latest episode of the Backstage Pass, Jonathan Coachman stated that Lynch was reportedly asking for two million a year, but WWE didn’t do it because if they paid her, she would be on the show right now.
Sources who spoke with Fightful shot down that rumor. Fightful reports Lynch and WWE are on good terms, as WWE respects Lynch’s decision to take time off. The company stated that if Lynch wanted to sign a deal before her absence, they likely would have done that.
Sources outright denied the $2 million number, as Lynch didn’t ask for that, and they were told WWE would have jumped at that number if she had. Lynch’s contract would be well beyond the $2 million a year.
