WWE Star Felt ‘Survivor’s Guilt’ Over Baron Corbin’s Release

Baron Corbin departed from WWE last week after the company opted not to renew his deal. He had been with the company for over a decade.

Camelo Hayes has admitted feeling “survivor’s guilt” after Corbin’s recent release from WWE. After working together in NXT last year, the two men got to know each other.

Corbin returned to NXT last May, where he entered into a program with Hayes and challenged him for the NXT Title. They also wrestled on SmackDown as a part of this year’s King of the Ring tournament.

While speaking with Metro, Hayes stated that Corbin’s firing hit him hard and credited Corbin for helping him behind the scenes about wrestling and life.

“It’s kinda like a survivor’s guilt, you know what I mean? After a day or two, you’re like, “Man!” You just hate to see that for them.” Hayes continued, “I’m forever indebted to Baron Corbin, he adds. “Super talented, and I hate to see him go. That was one of those ones that really kinda hurt.”

Corbin is free and clear to sign with any promotion he wants as he doesn’t have a non-compete.
