Trevor Lee (Cameron Grimes) Wins His First Title Following WWE Departure

Trevor Lee, aka Cameron Grimes, has hit the independent wrestling scene yet again after his WWE departure.

Grimes first made a name for himself in PWG and TNA Wrestling as Trevor Lee before signing with WWE, where he went to work in NXT. In 2019, he had a memorable feud with LA Knight and Ted DiBiase, where they brought back the Million Dollar Title.

Grimes had a run as the North American Champion and was called up to the main roster in 2023 as part of the Draft. Grimes was moved to the SmackDown roster. Grimes last worked a WWE match on April 12th in a loss to Bron Breakker.

In March, the company let Grimes go alongside Von Wagner, Xyon Quinn, Veer, Sanga, Jinder Mahal, and Xia Li. Following the release, Grimes stated in an interview with Busted Open Radio that he was told by a higher-up in WWE days before his release that he’d always have a job in WWE.

NewPhotographyStudios shared a photo of Grimes holding Australia’s Integrity Wrestling Heavyweight Championship. In a post on Twitter, Grimes confirmed he won his first title following his departure.
