MVP: WWE Had Plans To Turn Hurt Business Into Nation Of Domination 2.0

MVP has confirmed WWE had plans at one point to have the Hurt Business be a second coming of the Nation of Domination.

In the summer of 2020, our own Paul Davis reported that there were plans to have MVP lead a stable with Lashley and others with names discussed, including Shelton Benjamin and Apollo Crews. Dave Meltzer reported at the time that WWE had plans to bring in Ron Simmons and Mark Henry to help get over the group as ambassadors. Vince McMahon had been listening a lot to MVP’s ideas and has been receptive to them.

The Hurt Business, which consisted of MVP, Lashley, Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander, were together from 2020-2021 before breaking up. They reunited for another stint that lasted through 2022.

MVP said in a post on Twitter that WWE not only intended to turn the group into ‘NOD 2.0,’ but also confirmed the report about Simmons and Henry. MVP also stated that Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque always avoided the conversation about not wanting to do the faction.

MVP wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “There was a moment during the “PC Era” when the old man wanted to turn “The Hurt Business” into NOD 2.0. He even brought in Mark & Ron. We fought him on it. Our group was NEVER about RACE. It’s always been about our organic friendship and desire to make money doing what we love!”
