After WWE Monday Night RAW went of the air last night, WWE put on a dark match featuring “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes squaring off against Carmelo Hayes.
Rhodes won the match but this marks another high-profile match for Hayes, who continues to impress as one of the rising stars on the main roster. Hayes also wrestled in a dark match on 11/8 after SmackDown.
It’s pretty clear that the company (and Cody Rhodes) sees potential in Hayes since he’s being put in the mix with top stars. He teamed with Bron Breakker and Ludwig Kaiser in a losing effort against Rhodes, Jey Uso and Sami Zayn. Cody defeated Carmelo on the SmackDown show that aired on 11/29.
