“Red One” Movie Starring The Rock And Chris Evans Breaks Amazon Prime Record

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson stars alongside Chris Evans in the film “Red One,” a movie that was released on Amazon Prime with great success.

It was added to the streaming service on December 12th. Deadline.com is reporting that the movie had 50 million worldwide viewers in its first four days on Prime Video. This makes it the most watched Amazon MGM Studios film on the service.

The previous record was from “Road House” earlier this year, which did 50M global viewers alone in its first two weekends. It’s directed by Jake Kasdan, who was with The Rock for “Jumanji,” and written by Chris Morgan, who worked with The Rock on the Fast and Furious spinoff movie, “Hobbs & Shaw.”

J.K. Simmons, Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Kristofer Hivju, Nick Kroll, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, and Wesley Kimmel also star in the film. The movie had a $200 million budget and made $175 million worldwide in its opening weekend. It remained in theaters for 28 days before being released on the streaming service. Check out the new trailer and synopsis below:

“After Santa Claus – Code Name: RED ONE – is kidnapped, the North Pole’s Head of Security (Dwayne Johnson) must team up with the world’s most infamous bounty hunter (Chris Evans) in a globe-trotting, action-packed mission to save Christmas.”
