Kenny Omega’s AEW Return Imminent as Promotional Campaign Begins

All Elite Wrestling has commenced a promotional campaign signaling the return of Kenny Omega to its programming. A video package highlighting Omega’s career aired during Wednesday’s Holiday Bash episode of Dynamite, fueling anticipation for the former AEW World Champion’s comeback.

Omega is scheduled to compete at Wrestle Dynasty, a multi-promotional event taking place at the Tokyo Dome on January 5th. He will face Gabe Kidd in his first match since December 2023.

Omega has been sidelined due to various health issues, including diverticulitis which required surgery in May. While he made a brief appearance on AEW television in May, he was subsequently attacked by a new iteration of The Elite, further delaying his in-ring return.

Wrestle Dynasty will also feature the Young Bucks, Omega’s long-time tag team partners, challenging for the vacant IWGP Tag Team titles. The event, which includes talent from New Japan Pro Wrestling, Stardom, Ring of Honor, and CMLL, promises to be a significant spectacle in the world of professional wrestling.

No word on when Omega will be back on AEW TV but the company has Worlds End coming up on 12/28 on pay-per-view and the Dynamite Fight For The Fallen broadcast on TBS that will also air on Max for the first time so either of those two dates would make sense for his return.
