Kevin Nash Discusses Finding Religion Before Recent Surgery and Dismisses The Rock Taking Over WWE Creative

On the latest episode of his “Kliq This” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash opened up about a personal experience with faith before a recent surgery and addressed rumors surrounding The Rock’s potential involvement in WWE creative.

Nash revealed a newfound connection to religion before going under the knife. “For some reason, before I went in, I found God. Like, I found my religion, whatever you want to call it. That socialization process from Detroit with Bob going to the Methodist Church, man, I said the Lord’s Prayer. Please forgive me of my sins. I’m going in and please don’t take me from Tamara. Don’t put this on her lap. I went in and I came out and, man, it was rough coming out. It was hard coming out of that fu**ing anesthesia. It’s like being in a fu**ing tunnel.”

The conversation then shifted to rumors of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson potentially taking over creative from Triple H. Nash strongly dismissed this idea, citing Triple H’s hands-on approach and attention to detail. He referenced a recent Instagram post showcasing Triple H directing production for a wrestler’s entrance. “Did anybody see the footage? They brought back a Japanese guy. They were working on his entrance. It was on Instagram. They showed Paul walking the production people through, like what he wanted. ‘I want it more lit, like, not so much on the top, but underneath.’ He kind of walked them through this entire process of what he saw personally for this guy’s entrance. I was just like, man, this is so Kliq, attention to details. Always detail, detail, detail, detail. That’s what makes the difference between good and great. Detail.”

Nash argued that Johnson’s busy schedule wouldn’t allow him the necessary time to dedicate to such a demanding role. “I’m saying to myself, Dwayne doesn’t have the time for that. When you’re in charge of creative and you’re in what I call the Vince role in that company, you’re the coach. Vince was Belichick, like. It was just Vince’s way.”

He further emphasized the positive impact of Triple H’s leadership, stating that his ability to connect with talent is a key factor in WWE’s current success. “The whole thing is what caused this upturn is it’s the Triple H era because people will fu**ing work for him. People will run through fu**ing walls for him. He fu**ing he gets it. That’s the intangible that Brian Gewirtz or Dwayne are not going to have. I never really worked under Gewirtz, so I don’t have an opinion on his ability.”

Nash’s comments on Triple H echo what many in the company have said publicly and privately about the positive changes in WWE. Triple H’s leadership style and rapport with the roster are crucial to the company’s current direction and success.
