An AEW star who has been absent from television is slated to make an in-ring return soon.
Tay Melo was first sidelined with a back injury before taking time off for maternity leave as she and her husband, Sammy Guevara, welcomed their first child last November. After giving birth and recovering, Melo started to share footage of her training in the ring.
In a past vlog made by Guevara, Melo confirmed that she has been cleared to wrestle, something she hasn’t done in 17 months. The AEW star last wrestled in March 2023 at NEW Wrestlefest XXVII when she worked a mixed tag team match, but she hasn’t worked a match in AEW since January 2023.
It was announced today that Melo will return to the ring when she teams with Mina Shirakawa against Athena and Thekla for a tag team match at the STARDOM New Year Dream 2025 show. It’s unclear when she will return to AEW TV.
