On the recent “Kliq This” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver discussed the job Triple H has been doing backstage in WWE after he took over creative. On commentary, Michael Cole has been saying that this is the Triple H era. Nash agreed with this.
Nash said, “I’m so glad that, because, like, last week we had the conversation, and sometimes, like, I feel like such a homer, you know, when I so I just kind of gave Endeavor the credit. I just don’t want to f**king like, sound like I’m just blowing my buddy every chance I get. So it was like so nice for Michael Cole to come out and say that we’re now in the Triple H era. And I’m like, f**king damn right we are.”
Nash continued, “It’s the Paul Levesque era. You can call him Triple H if you want to. That’s up to you. But it’s Paul “Triple H” Levesque. I think that’s the way they covered it. But it is. I saw something where I don’t know if it was, was it Russo? There were a couple of different podcasts. They were saying that Hunter would be forced out next year by The Rock, and they were going to bring in Brian Gewirtz.”
Kevin believes Triple H’s leadership style, where people are willing to “run through walls” for him, is in contrast to someone like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson who may not have the same level of commitment to the minutiae of running WWE’s creative.
- Kevin praised Triple H’s ability to inspire loyalty and hard work among WWE staff, attributing the current upturn in WWE to his leadership.
- Kevin said Triple H has the intangible qualities that make an effective leader, drawing a comparison to Bill Belichick’s coaching style in the NFL.
- Kevin felt Triple H’s attention to detail and meticulous approach to creative, like working closely on a wrestler’s entrance, is a key factor in WWE’s recent success.
In summary, Kevin was very complimentary of Triple H’s leadership and credited him as the driving force behind the positive changes in WWE. Click below to listen to the entire podcast.
