NJPW Was Unable To Book Several AEW Talents For Wrestle Dynasty Because Of Schedule Conflict

The NJPW x AEW: Wrestle Dynasty pay-per-view event takes place on January 5, 2025, at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. Kenny Omega vs. Gabe Kidd in Omega’s in-ring return, Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Ricochet, and a NEVER Openweight Title bout are the top matches on the card.

Some fans have felt the card doesn’t have enough AEW star power. The likes of Willow Nightingale, ROH Tag Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara, Konosuke Takeshita, Jack Perry, Claudio Castagnoli, Brody King, Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone, and The Young Bucks will all be competing on the card.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported, “There were a number of talent that NJPW wanted for Wrestle Dynasty, but were already planned for Collision the same day.” It was added that talent is slated to leave on January 1st.
