Expected Timeline For When WWE SmackDown Will Switch Back To A Two-Hour Format

WWE SmackDown will not remain as a three-hour program after all, as last month, WWE announced the show would go from a two-hour format to three on the USA Network starting on the January 3rd episode.

Triple H shared on The Pat McAfee Show this week that the show would move back to two hours. However, he didn’t specify when the show would shift back to a shorter program.

Brandon Thurston of WrestleNomics reported that the show is slated to return to a two-hour format in June. He wrote, “[Paul] Levesque didn’t specify the timing here. I’ve been informed Smackdown is planned to return to a 2-hour format beginning in June.

WrestleVotes had first reported this in September after it was first reported that the show was being extended to three hours and before the announcement by WWE was made.
