There were high expectations when AEW brought in former NWA Women’s World Champion Kamille, who had interest from WWE in 2024. Kamille was introduced as the bodyguard of TBS Champion Mercedes Mone when she made her promotional debut in July. After her debut, she has worked a handful of matches.
Kamille split away from Mone in November and was written off AEW television in an attack. The storyline has seemingly been dropped. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select was asked about the status of Kamille during the most recent Fightful Weekly Q&A Podcast.
He said, “She’s under contract, but I’ve not heard anything regarding her on-screen future since shortly after she ‘quit’ working for Mercedes. There were some internally that wanted the two to blow off the partnership with a match, but it didn’t end up happening.”
While speaking with CovalentTV in December, Kamille stated that she wanted to hold gold in AEW and felt their fans hadn’t seen a glimmer of what she could offer.
