WWE is looking to return to New York City with the NXT brand this year.
PWInsider.com reports that WWE is looking to hold a TV event in NYC this March. They were told the proposed date is Tuesday, March 11, at The Theater in Madison Square Garden. If this stands, it would be the night after WWE holds Monday Night Raw at MSG.
Back in the day, the venue was known as The Felt Forum, which would broadcast WWF house shows that were sold out in the Garden via closed circuit. Over the years, the venue has held various wrestling events, including WCW house shows, a GLOW event in the ’80s, two Lucha Libre AAA events, and an NXT house show in 2016.
Should it happen, then it would mark the first-ever WWE broadcast from The Theater in MSG. There’s also been talk of NXT taping in Nashville as well. WWE has yet to confirm the events.
