Drew McIntyre was absent from Monday’s Raw following his frustrated reaction to the Royal Rumble. Backstage, McIntyre reportedly showed his displeasure with wrestlers prioritizing their moves over the match’s storytelling.
PWInsider.com had reported that McIntyre’s elimination was intended to happen earlier, but timing issues arose. The original plan involved McIntyre being eliminated before Logan Paul entered, following a face-off with Damian Priest.
McIntyre was supposed to tease eliminating Jey Uso, after which Priest would eliminate him, setting up their WrestleMania feud. However, these plans were derailed by the timing issues. For more on that, click here.
PWInsider.com reports that after being asked about McIntyre’s status for SmackDown, they were told, “Anything is possible.” It was added that “It’s not a case where the bridge is completely burnt to the ground as the two sides have been in communication almost immediately” after he stormed out.
McIntyre began making appearances on SmackDown heading into the Royal Rumble. He has yet to comment on the situation publicly.
