Drew McIntyre Is Expected To Be At Tonight’s WWE SmackDown

Drew McIntyre looks to be making his return to WWE TV on tonight’s episode of SmackDown. McIntyre was absent from Monday’s Raw and all week, his status for tonight’s SmackDown was unclear.

Reports surfaced of McIntyre expressing frustration with a fellow wrestler prioritizing their moves over the match’s storytelling at the Royal Rumble. PWInsider.com previously reported that McIntyre’s elimination was planned for earlier in the match, but timing issues interfered. The original scenario involved McIntyre being eliminated before Logan Paul’s entrance after a confrontation with Damian Priest.

The intended sequence was for McIntyre to tease eliminating Jey Uso, followed by Priest eliminating McIntyre, thus igniting their WrestleMania storyline. However, these plans were disrupted by the aforementioned timing problems. It has since been reported that the wrestler McIntyre was frustrated with was LA Knight.

PWInsider.com reports that several WWE sources believe McIntyre will be at tonight’s SmackDown, with one source thinking McIntyre’s “move to SmackDown will finally be made official very soon, possibly as soon as today.” Although McIntyre wasn’t at Raw on Monday, both the two sides have been in regular communication since he stormed out of the Royal Rumble.

WWE sources also acknowledged that the company has seen the support for him on social media. WWE reportedly has big plans for McIntyre. For more on that, click here.
