People Within AEW Believe The Hurt Syndicate Will Push For Cedric Alexander To Join The Company

Isla Dawn has joined the list of talent who have been released by WWE. On Friday, WWE released several superstars, including Cedric Alexander, AOP (Rezar and Akam), their manager Paul Ellering, and Blair Davenport. Sonya Deville was informed that WWE wouldn’t be renewing her deal, which expires later this month.

Alexander worked for WWE for nearly a decade. In 2020, Cedric Alexander joined The Hurt Business alongside Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin. This popular faction eventually disbanded, but not before Alexander found Tag Team Championship success.

Following his time with The Hurt Business, Alexander’s appearances were limited mainly to house shows, Main Event, and a brief stint in NXT during 2024. Now, he will have to wait for free agency.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported, “AEW sources expected several within the Hurt Syndicate to push for him.” It’s unclear what Tony Khan’s interest is in him, but since The Hurt Syndicate has arrived in AEW, they’ve been given a big push.
