Rey Fenix’s situation with AEW is one of frustration with Fenix not being used nor being able to leave and for the fans who want to see him compete. He is waiting for his deal to expire because AEW opted to add time to his deal due to missed time because of injury.
The belief is the time added is close to a year, and once that time passes, then he will reunite with Penta El Zero M as Lucha Bros, where he could head to WWE as WWE is interested in them. Penta has been pushed as a rising star since making his WWE debut.
While speaking with Lalo Elizarrarás, Fenix discussed staying busy with outside projects while continuing to train for when the call comes to wrestle again. Fenix was asked about his contract status with AEW.
Fenix said, “Yes, basically, I’m still under contract with an additional extension. I am waiting to be used, to be called to work, or to have my situation clarified a little more.”
