Scrapped WWE WrestleMania 41 Matches Confirmed

WWE WrestleMania 41 has come and gone with mixed feedback from fans online. The Rock’s interview on Pat McAfee Show and the trailer for WWE: Unreal have given insight into many matches that were once planned for WrestleMania.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp and Self Made PW’s Ibou had discussed a number of matches back in December and January. They appeared on a whiteboard in a trailer for the upcoming WWE Unreal series.

The Rock confirmed Fightful’s reporting that there had been no plan as of WWE Bad Blood for the John Cena heel turn to take place, as he wasn’t even slated for Elimination Chamber until about a month before. He also confirmed Dave Meltzer’s reporting that he wanted Cody Rhodes to turn.

Fightful reported that the whiteboard contains tentative, preliminarily discussed matches.  Wyatt Sicks vs. Judgment Day was a direction Fightful had heard was a possibility and was mentioned on the WWE Raw post-show. However, it didn’t happen as Bo Dallas was sidelined.

Jade Cargill vs. Nia Jax was also a match that had been discussed internally, but when Cargill was sidelined with an injury, the decision was made for Naomi.  Charlotte Flair was listed on the whiteboard in a match with Becky Lynch vs. IYO SKY and Asuka.

CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Gunther, and Roman Reigns’ plans had been in flux. Fightful Select reported in January that Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair was the planned direction. That was listened to on the whiteboard, but later, IYO Sky was added to it.

This is just a snippet of the story. For complete details, please visit Fightful Select at Patreon.com/Fightful.
