People In WWE Believe Dakota Kai Should Sign With AEW

Despite her recent WWE release, Dakota Kai is reportedly viewed positively by many within the company, suggesting that she would be a welcome acquisition for All Elite Wrestling (AEW). This insight comes from Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Kai was among the numerous talents released by WWE in early May 2025. Meltzer provided background on the New Zealand-born wrestler and the perception of her within WWE circles even after her departure.

“Dakota Kai (Cherrie Crowley, 37). Crowley wrestled on the indie scene as Evie from 2007 until signing with WWE at the end of 2016,” Meltzer reported. “Those we talked to in WWE were positive on her and felt AEW should sign her.”

The positive assessment continued, “She’s a very good wrestler, has a name, and fans will know her immediately,” Meltzer added.

Her nearly decade-long experience on the independent scene as Evie, coupled with her WWE tenure, makes her a valuable free agent. She would be a welcomed addition to any roster she joins.
