Becky Lynch Reveals Health Issue Postponed Her WWE Return

Becky Lynch, who made her impactful return to WWE at WrestleMania 41 in April 2025 after a year-long absence, recently revealed that her comeback was initially planned for an earlier date. “The Man” shared in a conversation with Variety.com that an unexpected health issue altered her return timeline.

Lynch explained her hiatus, which began after a WWE Women’s World Championship loss to Liv Morgan in May 2024, was first intended to be a shorter, three-month break. “I took what I thought was going to be three months off during the summer, when my contract came up… ‘Okay, seems like a good time to take a little break, get some stuff done,’” she recalled. This break extended due to filming commitments for projects like “Star Trek” and a “Happy Gilmore” related project.

A return was then discussed for around the Royal Rumble in January 2025. “There was talk [of a return] around Rumble time,” Lynch disclosed. “But then at the last minute, I got a skin condition.”

This unforeseen issue pushed her return to WrestleMania 41, a timing Lynch ultimately embraced. “The next big event was WrestleMania, so it seemed to make sense, especially if I could take Bayley out of the mix and ruin her dreams. It felt doubly brilliant,” she added.
