Backstage News On Whether WWE Has Plans For NXT PLE On SummerSlam Weekend

WWE SummerSlam is set for a massive two-night spectacle at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on August 2 and 3, 2025. While WWE is focused on making the Premium Live Event a show to remember, many WWE fans have been asking if NXT will also host an event during that busy weekend.

New information regarding NXT’s August plans has now been shared. During a recent Q&A session, WrestleVotes was asked if NXT would be holding a show connected to SummerSlam.

WrestleVotes stated that, as of right now, NXT will not be involved in any events tied directly to the SummerSlam weekend festivities. However, the developmental brand does have its own separate major event planned for later in the month.

“Yes, there is info on that. That’s a great question to start off with. No, they will  not be doing anything tied into SummerSlam weekend as of now. They do have their own event—it will be taking place at the end of August and we’re looking to nail down the date and location for that—but no, it will not be tied into SummerSlam weekend.”

NXT’s next big Premium Live Event is Battleground, which is scheduled for this Sunday, May 25, 2025, featuring a strong lineup of matches.
