Karrion Kross Believed WWE Was Trying to “Kill Him Off” During Initial Main Roster Run

Karrion Kross confessed that he felt WWE might have been actively trying to “kill off” his character and momentum from the outset of his first main roster run. Speaking on “The Ariel Helwani Show,” Kross shared his perspective on that challenging period.

“I did, for sure [feel they were trying to kill him off]. That’s just me saying, ‘I think.’ That’s the way I feel. I can’t tell you for sure. I could just tell you how I felt, and I could tell you how everybody else felt,” Kross stated. “It was a very, very weird time. Very weird.”

During this turbulent period, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Kross’s boss in NXT, was dealing with a serious health issue. Despite suggestions to reach out, Kross chose not to. “Everyone was like, ‘You need to call Hunter. You need to talk to him. He’s gonna fix this.’ I was like, ‘You think he’s thinking about high spots right now and gives a sh*t about any of this? The guy almost died. I’m not calling him about any of this. I will figure it out, and if I don’t, I’ll live.’ That’s how I dealt with it.”

Kross concluded, “It was just something I had to explore and do my best to come out of it in one piece on the other side.”
