Goldberg Drops Hint At Location For WWE Retirement Match

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg has provided a significant clue regarding the location of his highly anticipated 2025 retirement match, confirming it will take place in a Southern setting.

In a profile piece with MySA published, while not revealing the exact city, Goldberg stated, “It’s going to be in the South.” He elaborated on the choice, saying, “This gives me the opportunity to put a stamp on my career in front of the people I care the most about.”

This revelation has immediately fueled speculation that Atlanta, Georgia, is the most likely frontrunner for the bout. Goldberg has deep-rooted connections to the area, having played college football for the University of Georgia, spent time with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons, and consistently being billed from Atlanta throughout his illustrious wrestling career. Furthermore, his notable appearance at WWE Bad Blood 2024 in Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, which included a tense confrontation teasing a match with Gunther, lends further credence to this theory, though his final opponent remains unconfirmed.

The 58-year-old also told MySA that he has dedicated the past four months to training for what will be his first in-ring competition since February 2022. It was noted that Goldberg has “been approved for some creative control of the rollout plans for the date’s announcement.”
