More evidence has come out confirming R-Truth’s recent departure from WWE was not a storyline.
A WWE higher-up told Fightful Select that after R-Truth was initially approached for a return, he “didn’t seem to entertain the calls.” The situation changed when WWE President Nick Khan, who rarely gets involved in talent negotiations, took over the talks.
The source reiterated that Truth’s initial departure was not a work and that bringing him back was a sign that “roster and fan response being listened to overcame everything else.” People close to R-Truth, including family members, confirmed the new deal was put together very late in the week.
When talent asked Killings or WWE brass about the situation, they were also told it was not work. There is speculation that using the “Ron Killings” name could be tied to his past desire for a more serious in-ring run before his career ended.
