Britt Baker-AEW Rumor Killer

A new report has debunked the recent rumor, started by former WWE commentator Jonathan Coachman, that Dr. Britt Baker was leaving AEW to sign with WWE. While Coachman claimed on his podcast that Baker was “gone from AEW” and “this close” to a WWE deal, further reporting indicates this is not the case.

According to Fightful, Baker remains under a long-term contract with AEW. She reportedly signed a five-year deal with the promotion in late 2021, which would keep her with the company for well over another year, not including any potential time added for injuries.

The report also cites a WWE source who stated that while Baker has always been a welcome visitor backstage at WWE shows in the past, the company has not had any recent discussions about bringing her in.

Coachman’s claim came after Baker has been absent from AEW television since November 2024. This, combined with earlier reports of backstage frustration with the former champion and a past suspension, fueled the speculation. However, all available information suggests the “D.M.D.” remains with AEW, though there are currently no known creative plans for her return.
